About
I view the human body as the perfect form. The body has evolved over millions of years, and its beauty is the impetus for my creations. My designs echo, or better yet, enhance the perfect curves, lyrical forms, and sensual lines that are the human figure. I value the elegant and reductive forms that are generated by the body.
In the process of creating jewelry, my body becomes the perfect tool to generate forms in its own image. Working with metal is an organic and raw experience. I take a cold, solid material and soften it to connect with the fluidity of the body. I use stones and minerals to connect with the body on an emotional level.
Living in Arizona, I am moved by the land and its past. The textures of the land are echoed in the forging and hammering of each piece. Taking materials from my native surroundings such as turquoise and silver, and manipulating them in my studio is an intensely intimate experience. This intimacy gives my work an aesthetic of immediacy and vitality.
